Mozart’s fiery aria “Der Hölle Rache” showcases the Queen of the Night’s wrath with piercing coloratura. Premiered in 1791, it was written for Mozart’s sister-in-law, Josepha Hofer. Notoriously difficult, it spans over two octaves and demands extraordinary vocal agility.
