Containing Canterbury, Whitstable and Herne Bay, the city of Canterbury measures 119.24 square miles (308.84 km2) with a population of over 160,000 people (Canterbury itself around 55,000 people). One of the most visited cities of UK, it served as the setting for Chaucer's 14th century classic The Canterbury Tales.
