The Brunel Museum tells the extraordinary story of The Thames Tunnel. Sir Marc Brunel and his son Isambard Kingdom Brunel worked together to build the world’s first tunnel under a navigable river. They demonstrated how to tunnel through soft unstable ground and influenced every subsequent similar tunnelling project.
